We are going to share how we struggled and how COVID-19 has changed our life. COVID-19 changed the way we used to communicate and meet with people, and changed our active lifestyle. There were restrictions on movement and travel. Over the past two years, the world has experienced stress, anxiety, fear, sadness, and loneliness. There was a huge loss of jobs, lives l, learning losses, and an increase in the digital divide and the economy of the country.
COVID-19 pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic is also known as the coronavirus pandemic, this new virus and disease. It began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
Symptoms of COVID-19
- The most common symptoms are fever, cough, tiredness, and loss of taste or smell.
- Serious symptoms are difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
How does it spread
The virus used to spread from an infected person’s mouth when they used to cough or from their nose when they used to sneeze. The virus used to spread more easily indoors in crowded places.
How did we solve
- We get a COVID-19 vaccine.
- We used to wash our hands often with soap and water.
- We used to take sanitizer everywhere.
- We used to wear masks whenever or wherever we used to go out like for marketing, school, office, etc. Still, now we wear masks so that we all can stay safe and healthy.
- We used to keep social distance and avoid crowds.
- We used to sanitize everything when we bought something from outside.
Effect of lockdown
The lockdown was there to protect us and to stop the spread of infection from one person to another.
Negative:
Lockdown has changed everyone’s daily life routine. And it was very difficult for children. Children were unable to play or meet with friends. They used to watch TV or play games on laptops or mobile phones. Many children used to get stressed and parents often worried about their children. Many people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic. And it was a very difficult situation for them. Due to the loss of income, many people have suffered from anxiety and stress that affects their health.
Positive:
The lockdown has given us an opportunity to understand the value of time and spending with families. We could create many hidden talents like how to make crafts to decorate study rooms or learn different languages. Many children were engaged in helping their mother, like cooking delicious snacks or watering the plants. And many were with Dad like washing the car or trying to make new dishes.
Nowadays, technology has made our life simple and very helpful. We also watched movies or talked with relatives due to video calls on mobile phones or laptops. The lockdown has taught us how to deal with overthinking, and how to calm down and many people used to make daily routines. The lockdown has resulted in a positive impact on the environment too. The exercise was the best way to keep physical health and fit and it helped us from stress-free, better sleep, and meditation used to give us self-confidence.
Impact of online classes on Students
We have all spent time around four walls but are still connected with the world. Students used to do classes on online platforms like Google Classroom, and Zoom. Many students have faced lots of problems not understanding the particular chapters or due to network issues also many of them couldn’t join the class. One of the biggest challenges was to focus continuously for a long duration on screen.
The notebook work may have been taken lightly but once a week there used to be tested for all students. There were high chances of the students distracting themselves while learning online. Online classes and technology have acted as superheroes during lockdown days and have helped both teachers and students to develop new skills.
Affected Indian Economy
The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on India has been largely disruptive in terms of economic activity as well as a loss of human lives. During the lockdown, many shops, restaurants, and hotels were shut down, and there was a huge loss for them. Farmers have struggled a lot to produce for the market and they were expecting good returns from the sale of the product but due to the poor availability of transport facilities, they couldn’t. Many workers have to leave their homes also for not paying. They had to suffer a lot for not getting proper food at times and not having access to drinking water or to buy essentials daily.
It was a very difficult time for us to face these problems. Many parents have lost their children or lost their relatives. Every day we used to hear this hard news from neighbors. We were praying to get over this difficult situation as soon as possible. When there was a lockdown, it felt like happiness had lost its address and was so silent around us like we were in another world. It was good for a few people or children that could spend time together. Some fathers had gone outside for work and got stuck there. For so many months they couldn’t meet each other. It was very difficult for the child and mother too. Some were very blessed to stay with their father and mother and with whole families too. We were alive but became robots. Every day was like the same story, the same routines, walking around home not sure how many times.
Now, everything is normal. Again all students started going to school and got their normal life back, farmers started to work, and people started to go to the office. But still, we didn’t forget to take sanitizer with us and wear a mask wherever we go outside. To stop the spread of disease is now in our hands, if we follow the rules then we can live happily and healthily and make others too.
